65 Million Years in the making – Tennyson Class took us back into the distant past to bring the dinosaurs back to life. We learnt facts about many different dinosaurs, how the Earth’s land masses have changed shape and much more. The children had painted some fantastic pictures of the dinosaurs they were describing and these same paintings were bought to life in a short animated film they had produced. Tennyson Class had also been creating their own multi-coloured dinosaur eggs and a super dinosaur nest. Finally we were treated to a dinosaur song to finish off this super assembly.
Our first view of the assembly is from a right-hand viewpoint of the stage.
Our second video of the assembly is from the left-hand viewpoint of the stage and was filmed by Hannah from Year 6. Hannah has done a fantastic job filming the assembly and we hope that having two viewpoints captures all of Tennyson’s Class great work during the assembly.
The short film below was created by the children using various techniques. The children animated their dinosaur paintings and the dinosaurs in their role-play area using stop-motion animation. We also used a “green screen” technique so the children could tell you super facts, standing right next to their dinosaurs! We had a lot of fun creating the movie but it takes a long time and very careful movement to make only a few seconds of animation.
