In Alpha Club this week we have been creating animated movies. We started off creating a joint movie in a tool called State from Xtranormal. This was a really fun way to create scenes, write our dialogue and select our different characters that would be in the movie. State even supplies voices for our characters but we used another feature of State to provide a voice-over for our own characters. After creating our joint movie which you can view below, we then used Text-to-Movie on the Xtranormal website to start creating our own individual movies. The Text-to-Movie online tools is not as powerful as the State tool but you have access to more characters and backgrounds.
We are hosting our movie on SchoolTube, which is an excellent site for teachers and pupils to share their videos.

Alpha Club has children from year 2 to year 5 and they all found these tools very simple to use and very importantly a fun way to create digital stories.
