Welcome to the Hunnyhill Primary School website. We are very proud of our website and are always trying to add new content and features to improve your experience. Below you will find information on how our website works and what features you can use to enhance your visit to our site.
This website is best viewed in Internet Explorer 7+, Mozilla Firefox 3.5+ and Google Chrome it is written to conform as closely as possible with the XHTML web-standard. We and other third-party services, require the use of JavaScript and Adobe Flash, to provide enhanced functionality on the website.
Navigation
The main sections are shown in the header of the website with secondary links in the footer. The left column also features a Quick Links section and the websites tags. All content added to the website is tagged with various keywords to match the content. The Tag Cloud gathers these tags together so you can easily find related information.
Links that take you outside the control of the Hunnyhill Primary School website are marked with a small square and arrow icon such as in this example. External Link
Images
A lot of our images are clickable in order to show you a larger image when clicked. You can click the mouse again to close the image or press the ‘x’ key on the keyboard.
Multimedia Links by Apture
You may notice the little book icons next to keywords in the text e.g. Moon Landing. These links when clicked or when the mouse pointer is held over the icon launch a small pop-up that displays more information and/or multimedia content for that link.
We use this to provide a more enriched user experience throughout the website. These sets of maps, videos, images, references and audio provide a huge amount of information for our pupils and visitors.
School News – Read to You!
The Listen Now icons provided underneath every School News article allows the news article to be read to you, just like a talking book. This provides more accessibility to the websites news content.
Translate the Website
In order to support the various nationalities represented at Hunnyhill Primary School we have added Google’s Translation tool to the bottom of every page. Select the language you want and from that time on any text on the website is translated into the required language.
We hope the automatic translation is good enough that native speakers can grasp the main points in the websites content. Comments on the accuracy of the translation would be appreciated.

We always look forward to children and parents contacting us and posting comments against our school news stories. If you see an assembly and really enjoyed it let us know by posting a comment.
