Hunnyhill School Parent Information

Below you will find a lot of useful information concerning many aspects of school life. If you are unsure about our policies or the answer is not below please ask your teacher.

The Routine - School hours

Morning Session   08:55 -12:05 Reception and KS1
08:55 -12:15 KS 2 (Years 3+4)

Afternoon Session    13:00-15:00  All

Morning Break 10:30-10:45   All

Your child may go into class from 8:45 and the register is taken at 8:55. Registers close at 9:00.

School Meals

A 4 week menu is available from reception.             
Dinners cost ?1.70 per day and payment should be made on Monday morning at Reception for the week. (You can choose which days you wish your child to have dinners).

Please put the money in an envelope marked with your child's name and class and what it is for.

Drinks

Fruit juice and milkshakes are available at 25p per day and should be ordered and paid for on a Monday at the hatchway to the kitchen in the main hall. Children may bring their own healthy snacks and drinks for morning break.

The school participates in the Free Fruit for Schools Scheme which entitles KS1 children to a piece of fruit at break time.

Lunch boxes

Children may bring their own packed lunch and it should contain fresh fruit or veg sticks and sensible drinks in Non-breakable containers.

Children should not bring sweets, chocolate, nuts, fizzy drinks or 'junk' food into school.

Breakfast Club
Start time 8.00am till 8.50am.

No need to book, just turn up. The cost is ?1.50 per day and it is held in the Family Learning Room (through the main hall and down the KS2 corridor). Your child can have breakfast and be cared for until school starts. Snacks and drinks are available.

After School Club
Start time 3.05pm till 4.15pm.

Please book on a Monday morning if possible (for staffing reasons). The cost is ?2.50 per day and it is held in the Family Learning Room. Snacks and drinks are available.

Absence

If your child is unwell or absent for any other reason please contact the school by telephone or in writing on the First day of absence to meet legal requirements. If you are unsure if your child should come to school please phone for advice.

Collecting your child

Reception children are collected from the rear of the KS1 classrooms and will only be released from school care to named people. If you can not collect your child and need to send someone not known to the staff, please contact the school in advance.

Medicines

If your child needs medicine whilst in school you will need to complete a medical form available from the school office.

Uniform

Our school uniform is:- Royal blue sweatshirt, pullover or cardigan. White polo shirt. Grey trousers, shorts, skirt or pinafore dress. Blue + White check summer dress. Sensible black shoes. No fashion shoes for safety reasons.

P.E. Uniform

Our Physical Education Uniform is: - Yellow T-shirt, royal blue shorts and black plimsolls. Y3+Y4 may bring a tracksuit in winter for outside P.E. and Games.

All of the above are available locally at reasonable prices from a wide variety of shops. The school also sells the following items with the school logo:

These items are on sale on Monday and Friday mornings in the Family Learning Room at 9am. Please ensure that ALL items are clearly labeled with your child's name.

There is a Lost Property Box in the Fiction Library just inside the main front door where mislaid items are put.

Neither the school nor the Local Education Authority can accept responsibility for personal belongings brought to or left at school.

Children are not allowed to bring toys, rings, knives, jewelry etc, which might be dangerous to others or themselves.
