Children Playing With Lego

Welcome to Hunnyhill School Learning Zone here you will find resources that children and grown-ups might find useful.

ICT

Internet Safety : The Internet is a wonderful place but you need to be smart. How to have fun and stay safe for children, parents/carers and educators.

Software : A list of free and commercial software that we use in school and you might find useful at home.

Literacy

Spellings : High frequency words for year groups.

Reading: Oxford Reading scheme with online audio books, for all ages, to support reading at home.

Numeracy

Hit The Button - Very popular among children in school to practise times tables, number bonds and division. Visit our Hit the Button Hall of Fame to see the top scores so far.

Number work: Online activities to support early number development.

Music

Sing Up – Fantastic website for singing resources, packed with popular music for children. The website has a searchable song database. Each song has several different versions (full with vocals, backing etc.) of the music that you can play on the website or download as MP3 files as well as the lyrics.

Each class uses the website throughout the week for a sing-a-long around the smart board.

Songsmith – This is a software application from Microsoft for all you budding singers and songwriters. You sing a song and this clever application will fill in the backing music for you. I am afraid its not free but you do get 6 hours of singing before you need to pay for it.

Virtual Learning Environment

The virtual learning environment is currently being evaluated and developed.
